I did however find some time over the weekend to finish the last of The Petal series. Bold gouache colours this time. And I have to say, aside from the misgivings about the hair (bane of my existence) I am rather attached to the vibrant colours, as is Petal herself. Guess which version she has chosen for her wall ?

Thanks for your sweet comments on my Creative Space post--I see we both have a penchant for picnic baskets as storage spaces--Did you spot the stack of them in my studio? :) And your drawings are darling!

What a beautiful painting. I'd love to be able to paint.
ReplyDeleteI use picnic baskets too! your colors bring the work alive...wow!
ReplyDeletethis so beautiful Tara. Would love to see all the versions together. i spot another lovely drawing in the picnic basket too!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful beautiful beautiful!!!
I can't wait to see all those little ideas in your head on paper!
ReplyDeleteYour work is gorgeous!
I'd like to see a picture of God's creative space. It would be a picture of everything, and then he'd try and upload it to his blog and he'd swear like the fallible thing he is because the file size would be too big.
ReplyDeleteJust saying.
Wow, that last comment is a hard act to follow! Yup. Anyway, love your painting, very sweet and beautiful. Have a great, creative, happy day xo
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Gawwwsh, you are truly clever!
ReplyDeleteTime out is really just time to gather your thoughts and think up new things to do. Its part of the process so enjoy it too. Plus you never know what that 'Petal' will get up to whilst you aren't looking...
ReplyDeleteIt came up beautifully! The hair looks pretty fabulous to me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being such a lovely Creative Space visitor too. x

Beautiful creative space, the drawing is so wonderful.
ReplyDeletegorgeous piece Tara ~ i think the hair is great, love the outfit too.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite part is her shoes! Pretty pretty.
ReplyDeletewonderful hair, and the folds and creases in her clothes are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't look like a sad state at all. It looks prepared and ready and waiting patiently for you.
ReplyDeleteYour Petal is perfect.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record (remember, those shiny, black, round things)thanks once again for all your generous comments & taking the time to stop by :)
ReplyDeleteTara that painting is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! As a frustrated painter (i.e I just can't do it no matter how hard I try) I just fully appreciate those who can. What a lucky little girl you have to be on the receiving end of that!
ReplyDeleteThat painting is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletePetal looks lovely in the vibrant colours (although I like your other version too). I like the look of your very organised basket up the top too - such a contrast to my jumbled shoe box.
ReplyDeleteSuper lovely! You are a very clever lady!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous painting - you have a gift. xx

ReplyDeleteThat is one sweet picture! No doubt your lovely choose the colour - as little ones are want to do...?! I agree with a previous poster about wanting to see them all together - that WOULD be a treat!
'Pumpkin Tide' that you commented on on my blog is actually to go with a poem, I was thinking of making a wee zine thingy & leaving it B&W. I might have a play in photoshop though (no commitment then lol), as you've got me thinking about colour!
Interesting thing about the hair...i have made dolls of various kinds for years...and as much as i try to make thinner more realistic hair...i cannot...i dont know if its related to my own hair..but even when i set out to make just 'some' hair i always end up with 'loads' of it...sigh
ReplyDeleteyour space looks ready for some serious action...preparation is the key:)
Tara, that is absolutely beautiful! what a sweet drawing. I would love to see them all together aswell, soo talented ♥
ReplyDeleteShe turned out just Wonderful! I wish You could do my kids! Great job you should be proud.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fab illo. Tara! Love the detail in the jeans, the drape. Look forward to your new works : )
