I hope Kirsty won't mind, but I've taken some liberties with my creative space this week.
Rather then presenting my space (really, the creative nook can only look interesting from so many angles) I thought I'd share the progress of a very special project I am currently working on.
A certain, rather observant, four year old came to me the other week and queried why I was doing so many lovely pictures, none of which were ending up on her wall (all together now.....awwww). Naturally, I promptly promised her a picture.
The thing about four year olds is that a promise generally implies immediate action..hmm....the other thing about four year olds is that they can be very, very persistent. So here is where I'm at, from a pencil sketch to ink. This is my Petal. To be honest I am rather in love with this picture and a little nervous about adding colour, I just don't want to ruin her. So wish me luck and don't forget to catch up with all the other wonderful creativity over at Kootoyoo.
Wow, its is stunning! I dont think it needs colour I love it the way it is. Well done.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it. I vote for no colour too. It's gorgeous just as it is.
ReplyDeleteoh this is a stunning piece ~love the lines ....it is a forever keepsake!
ReplyDeleteThat is one captivating picture - as soon as it popped up on my screen I said WOW. Truly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank-you lovely ladies, I must confess I am veering towards no colour. The Coach also likes it as is. T'is a tricky one to be sure.
ReplyDeleteThis is just so lovely - you have a gift. I think no colour, mainly for impact and beauty in simplicity. But whisps of watercolour could be an option?
ReplyDeleteIt's just beautiful. I think you should leave it, it's a beautiful piece as it is.
ReplyDeleteLEAVE IT!!

Oh, this is very lovely. I too like it as is.
ReplyDeleteShe is gorgeous. I am rather in love with her too.
ReplyDeleteThis is the most gorgeous illustration! I would scan it into the computer and print out some copies on art paper and experiment with the colour. Keep the original - it's special :) K
ReplyDeletelovely drawing...i vote no colour too :-)
ReplyDeleteoh yeah I was going to suggest to scan it, like Kylie said. At least then if you add colour and decide that you prefer the original, uncoloured, you can print the scanned version. But I am all for a coloured version. I love colour.
ReplyDeleteOh, it is beautiful! I love it. Having a 4 year old girl myself, I can totally relate :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Kylie and Cassandra, excellent suggestion, why didn't I think of that ? And thank-you everyone else for the nice comments and support for the black and white :)
ReplyDeletesimply stunning...:)
ReplyDeletePetal is wonderful. Your drawings are amazing. I can't wait to see if you will add a bit of colour.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, this is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYour talent is astounding! I am so envious of your drawing ability. Your little girl will treasure this piece forever. TFS. Anita. xxx
ReplyDeletePS. Do you work from a photograph or just from "life"?
Thank-you Anita. I work from a photograph on the computer, it helps me to be able to zoom in on the tricky bits, like hands & feet.
ReplyDeleteIt's such a lovely drawing! I love your fine, perfect lines!
ReplyDeleteWow! Great drawing!! I really loved it in pencil as well.
ReplyDeleteThat is a sepcial project. It is so easy to see why you are in love with this picture. It is just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOh she is beautiful. You are so talented. I could see her as an embroidery too!
