Eye Spy....A Favourite Gadget.

So we don't really need to say it do we ? I know what you're thinking, you know what I'm thinking....but hey....it's time to play Eye Spy again with the lovely Ms Cindy . And what an excellent theme choice by Ms Kellie over at 74 Lime Lane, I just had to partake, yes I did.

I love gadgets, I do, I think they're swell and this little beauty is one of my all time favourites.

Have you ever seen one of these babies in action before ? If not, prepare to be seriously dazzled.

You take one lovely green apple.

You turn the handle around and around and around....

And voila, a you beaut apple slinky. How insanely cool is that ? The kiddies think that they are the bees knees and I think they're ace too. (By the way, I am single-handedly attempting to get the word 'ace' back into circulation, so feel free to throw it around as much as possible over the following week. That'd be ace.)

  2. I tried one of these one time... it was at a Pampered Chef party, I believe. I was sucktastic at it. My apple looked like it was gnawed on by a Labrador by the time I was finished. I'm quite amazed at your handy work.

  3. I have never seen one of those amazing things before, but now I have seen it have regressed to annoying toddler: 'I want! I want!"

  4. And instantly, with ease, I suddenly see the beauty of life. Holy everything, I don't what that machine is called but I wouldn't be surprised if it also solves world poverty and makes me look hot on Sunday mornings.

  5. I'm sure my mother-in-law would LOVE one of those. She loves gadgets. Me? I think it's great, but it's fitting it in to my kitchen that's the issue! I barely have room for my popcorn maker (surprisingly useful) and our pizza oven (gets a work out every Friday). Although, displayed on the kitchen bench it could like quite...ACE.

  6. You know, it is insanely single-purpose ... but I love it, I WANT one! How ace are those apple slinkies. You could make a whole pie that goes boing-boing. (BTW - the word ace has never gone out of vogue here. I am a huge fan. Now let's bring back grouse ... or was that 70's Victorian primary school only?!)

  13. Ooh, proper choice! To truly appreciate one of these beauties, you must immediately get out your pie tin and set to baking an apple pie...mmmm, I love pie...where was I?
Oh yes, or any apple tasty of your choice, it will delight and amaze you! We have ours at the ready and it gets a dizzying amount of use. Did I mention how much I love pie?

  14. So it would seem that Boing Boing apple pies should be added to my repertoire of recipes.

  16. That is an ace gadget!

I often seriously consider getting one of these. Living in the Apple Valley as I do, they're everywhere, most school canteens have them and sell apple slinkies. And if you want to cook apples, just cook the slinkies - no tedious peeling or coring. Fab choice!

  18. I thought those things just peeled apples, I never realised they made those completely ACE spirals of fruit.
And let's face it - who doesn't need a spiral of fruit in their life!

  19. ACE is alive and kicking. Dont you worry.
Slinky apples are a fav around here with the ankle biters too. I do not understand how women used to make an apple pie or apple anything before this gadget.
